Chief Ferraris Promotes Jason Millican to Lieutenant
As part of the police department reorganization, Chief Jim Ferraris announced the promotion of Sgt. Jason Millican to lieutenant. A second lieutenant will be hired through an external process which is ongoing and those positions will serve as division commanders.
Millican was interviewed by a panel of community members, government and law enforcement leaders, followed by an interview with Chief Ferraris. The promotion will be effective Nov. 1.
“I am excited to see quality career officers like Sgt. Millican move up into leadership positions in the organization,” Chief Ferraris said. “He brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience to the table, is a practitioner of community policing and embodies our core values in his day to day work. Jason will be a key player in preparing our department for future growth of the Woodburn community.”
Millican, who grew up in Woodburn and graduated from Western Oregon University, is looking forward to his new role.
“I am really excited about the opportunity that I have been given by Chief Ferraris,” he said. “I am looking forward to the new challenges that I will face as a lieutenant for the Woodburn Police Department.”
Millican has been with the department for 18 years.
