Chief's Message

I have said on a numerous occasions that it is a privilege to be a police officer. That privilege is granted to each of our officers by the representatives and residents of Woodburn. As such, we serve them. By taking on this responsibility, each officer now represents something greater than themselves; the Woodburn Police Department and our chosen profession. This means each of us is held to a higher standard. I have had the privilege of being a police officer for 32 years, the last four with Woodburn, and now have the privilege and distinct honor of serving as the Woodburn Chief of Police. I am appreciative of the confidence that the members of the police department, city leadership and the community have expressed in my ability to lead our organization.

The Woodburn Police Department has an unwavering commitment to community policing, which for me involves building positive relationships with all communities that make up the city of Woodburn. Further, our success is based upon the building of trust between ourselves and the residents of Woodburn. This trust only exists by demonstrating our professional competence, respect of those we serve, and to the extent allowed by law, transparency. All of us are living in unprecedented times, it has been and will continue to be an honor to serve this community.
