Woodburn Watches

Coming to the Woodburn Public library this fall . . .  Woodburn Watches.   Each month, we’ll share a movie from our subscription service Kanopy.  All you have to do is watch the movie, and tell us what you think of the movie to enter a raffle for popcorn and candy for the next month’s movie. You can enter the raffle at the library, or you can email us at: woodburn@ccrls.org and we’ll enter for you.   Each month we will have a movie for adults, kids and Spanish-speakers.  You will need a library card to access Kanopy and if you need any assistance please contact the library and we’ll help.  Watch one or watch them all.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

From acclaimed New Zealand director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, What We Do in the Shadows) Comes an award-winning new comedy.  Julian Dennison stars as Ricky, a defiant young city kid who finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle (Sam Neil) in the wild New Zealand bush.  A national manhunt ensues, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together.

Kids’ Edition – Zoo

Based on a true story, 12 year old Tom (Art Parkinson) and his misfit friends fight to save Buster the baby elephant during the air raids on Belfast in 1941.

Spanish Edition – Siete Cajas

Victor dreams of becoming famous and covets a fancy TV set in the infamous Mercado 4.  He receives an unusual offer to deliver seven boxes with unknown contents in exchange for a quick $100.  With a borrowed cell phone the contractor uses to tell him the way, Victor embarks on the journey to deliver the mysterious boxes within the sprawling Byzantine maze of the Paraguayan market.
